2011 Dodge Grand Caravan Breaks Cover

Earlier today we presented you the facelifted 2011 model year Dodge Avenger. Now, it’s time to offer you the 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. Just like the Avenger, the Grand Caravan received an all-new interior, a revamped exterior, an engine range refresh, as well as retuned suspension.

The minivan now comes with a new powerplant, in the form of a 3.6 liter Pentastar V6 unit that delivers 283 hp and a maximum torque of 260 lb-ft (323 Nm). This is the only available engine and replaces the 3.3-liter, 3.8-liter and 4.0-liter V-6 engines of the 2010 model.

The engine’s transmission has a special economy-orientated function (Fuel Economizer Mode) that maximizes fuel efficiency at the switch of a button. The vehicle’s efficiency is further enhanced by a a 12 millimeter lower ride height, new premium, lower-rolling resistance tires, a new spoiler and reduced brake caliper and rear bearing drag.

Dodge designers have worked to offer the vehicle a strong, masculine attitude. The minivan received a new front fascia that includes the new Dodge signature “split crosshair” grille, a new hood and quad headlamps. The vehicle has also been fitted with a more sculpted rear fascia, and fresh LED taillamps.

The automotive producers has made sustained efforts to upgrade the interior of the vehicle. The cabin received a new, one-piece instrument panel, redesigned center console, new trim rings, more comfortable, larger seats that feature a one-touch fold down function. Customers also receive new materials as well as fresh trimming.

The 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan will be available in four trim levels: Express, Mainstreet, Crew and the R/T (Dodge describes this as the “ultimate Man Van).

The facelifted minivan will enter the market by the end of the current year, with the R/T version coming in spring 2011.
