Dodge is introducing the revamped 2011 model year version of the Avenger, which comes with exterior changes, an all-new interior, as well as technical changes.The 2011 Avenger comes with a refreshed engine line-up that includes a standard 2.4 liter four-cylinder unit (the company calls this the World Gas Engine), that has been tweaked to offer a higher level of efficiency.

This is unit is joined by an optional Pentastar V6 powerplant that delivers 283 hp and a peak torque of 260 lb-ft (323 Nm). The output figures can be translated into a 20 percent and 12 percent increase, respectively, compared to the previous V6 engine.

The automaker claims that engineers worked on almost every part of the vehicle’s suspension, tweaking the components in order to offer a more involving and safer handling. The vehicle’s track has gained one inch, while the tires now use a 225 width (instead of 215). The car also rides closer to the road: 12 mm at the front and 6 mm at the rear.

The vehicle's exterior now uses more aggressive lines, such as the new front fascia that uses the new signature Dodge Split crosshair grille.

As for the interior, this received all-new instrument panel, bezels, gauge faces and new Dodge steering wheel. The seats were upgraded and the list of two-tone color schemes now offers a wider choice. The company has also added new features, such a new ambient interior lighting and a new multi-function three-spoke Dodge steering wheel with integrated controls for the radio, cruise control, hands-free phone and other vehicle functions while keeping their hands on the wheel.

The list of available equipment now includes voice command functions for hands-free phones, integrated USB port for streaming music, navigation and memo record, an iPod/MP3 jack, Bluetooth streaming music, Gracenote music identification, a hard drive that stores approximately 6,700 songs and remote start.

The 2011 Dodge Avenger will come to the world at the Sterling Heights Assembly plant in Michigan and is scheduled to hit showroom floors in the fourth quarter of the current year.
