2011 Carlsson smart fortwo Revealed

The tuners at Carlsson have just presented their first tuning packages for the 2011 smart fortwo coupe and convertible models. The changes suggested by Carlsson are aimed at making exterior and interior enhancements, and without making any upgrades to the power unit.

First off, the exterior of the 2011 smart fortwo gets LED daytime running lights at the front, two black radiator grill inserts made from powder-cated stainless steel and new alloy wheels.

The LEDs are also approved as sidelights. The ready-to-fit set is provided by Carlsson for EUR 415. “This means they may be used at the same time as dipped headlights and so set themselves apart from the typical upgrade kits,” Carlsson says in a statement.

Inside, the Carlsson 2011 smart fortwo coupe and convertible received a leather package which combines Napa leather and Alcantara that spreads on areas such as the instrument panel, knee area, steering wheel, instrument cluster, air vents, center console, doors and seats. The complete leather package is priced at EUR 4,163.

Furthermore, to suit every interior colour, the automobile manufacturer provides a gear selector in finest leather (EUR 89) in the colour combinations black and silver, black and red or black and beige.

Another highlight included in the package is the high-end 'Exclusive Edition' sound system that features a digital two-channel amplifier that outputs 400 Watts RMS, a 16.5 cm loudspeaker and a textile tweeter. The audio system for EUR 1,295 includes as a special feature the LED footwell lighting which is activated when the doors open.
