2011 Audi A1 Video Released

After earlier today the full details of Audi's smallest car were released, the German carmaker also released a video showing the A1. The video takes us roughly through all the history behind the A1, starting from the concept form presented at the Tokyo event in 2007 and all the way to the production version presented today.

The A1, which will be priced at around 16,000 euros, will feature two gasoline and two diesel, all direct fuel injected and turbocharged and developing in between 86 and 122 hp. The fuel economy is estimated in between 3.8 and 5.4/100 km (43-61 mpg).

All four engines use Audi's modular efficiency platform to recover energy during the braking and coasting phases and store it temporarily in the battery.

They also employ a start-stop system, which works in conjunction with the seven-speed S tronic transmission with two clutches. A five-speed manual transmission is also being offered.

The A1 will be offered by Audi in two trim levels, Attraction and Ambition. The former comes with chorus radio, a radio remote-controlled central locking system, power-adjustable side mirrors, power windows and a height-adjustable driver’s seat. Passive safety features include two front airbags, side airbags and head airbags. As with the Ambition, this trim can be enhanced by adding the media style package.
