2011 Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200 US Pricing Revealed

Set to arrive at North American dealerships in mid 2011, the new Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200 has already received a price tag for the US market, Piaggio announced today. Getting straight to the point, the 2011 Dorsoduro 1200 will come with a price of $11,999, and available in two color schemes: Glam White and Competition Black.

Powered by an all-new Aprilia V2 1200cc 90° V-twin engine, the maxi motard delivers 130 hp at 8,700 rpm and a maximum torque of 83.0 lbs.-ft. (115 Nm) at 7,200 rpm. The power unit is paired with a new 2-into-1-into-2 exhaust system that has been designed specifically for the bike and which is made entirely from stainless steel.

Technical features include radial Brembo calipers, hydraulic clutch, Ride by Wire with 3 different engine maps (Rain, Touring and Sport) and the Matrix instrument panel with on board computer.

In addition to that, the Dorsoduro is also available with ABS and Aprilia Traction Control (ATC), for total fun in total safety. When active, the system offers three different selectable traction control levels which adapt each of the bike's dynamic parameters to suit the personal needs and preferences of the rider

The wind deflector and hand guards offer enhanced wind protection, the Matrix instrument panel comes with a modern design and considerably reduced weight, while the anodised aluminium tapered handlebar is a reference to competition supermoto bikes.

Design highlights include the two-tone paintwork of the frame, the tail fairing colour-coded with the rest of the body elements and the new dual exhaust with black heat shields.

The Dorsoduro 1200 will join the already available Dorsoduro 750 ($9,999), the Shiver 750 ($9,499) and the Magna GT ABS ($10,999).
