Customers will be able to choose between an electronically-controlled 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The most economical engine fitted on the Peugeot 508 will be the 1.6-litre e-HDi FAP producing 112 bhp and 285 Nm of torque that uses a EGC 6-speed gearbox, with a fuel consumption of 56 mpg (4.2 l/100km) and CO2 emissions of 109 g/km.
On the other hand, the 2.2 litre HDi FAP fitted on the GT version that develops 204 bhp and 450 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed automatic, will emit 150g/km of CO2. The most powerful petrol option is represented by the 1.6-litre THP that outputs 156 bhp and 240 Nm of torque, also emitting 150 g/km of CO2.
The range will also include a model featuring Peugeot’s HYbrid4 technology. This will offer 200 hp, four-wheel drive and CO2 emissions of just 99 g/km.
Styling wise, the new 508 boasts a single grille rendered in a “floating” style and piercing headlamps with LED tubes that are visible both by day and by night. “Similarly, at the rear, three red ‘claws’ mask three rows of LEDs on the Saloon. The estate has a more composite feel, with a red band that lights up when the rear lights are activated,” Peugeot says.
Inside the 508, Peugeot is offering special features such as a color head-up display, four-zone air conditioning, as well as keyless entry and startup.
