2010 Holden Ute Comes with Six Standard Airbags
Beside the side impact and curtain airbags which are now offered as standard, the entire VW and WM range will also introduce a steering column shroud energy absorber - especially aimed at reducing driver knee injuries - plus a seatbelt reminder.
"Holden believes that occupant safety is just as important in the LCV market as it is in the family sedan market," GM Holden Director of Safety and Integration, Ian Butler, said. "Safety features are not something that should be limited to vehicle types or models and should be standard on all our vehicles, including those in the light commercial market."
"When it comes to safety we are absolutely committed to continually improving the passive and active safety features we offer."
Other safety features on the light commercial vehicle (LCV) range include Electronic Stability Control (ESC) which incorporates Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Brake Assist (EBA) and Traction Control System (TCS).
The Omega Ute is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine that develops 261 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque while the SS and the SS V versions are featuring a 6.0-liter V8 powertrain producing 362 horsepower and 530 Nm of torque. Quad exhausts add to the performance package on SS and SS V models.
