Following the release of pricing information for the 2010 Chrysler 300C, the American manufacturer announced the availability of the 2010 Dodge Journey models on the UK market. The seven seater will be available in three versions, SE, SXT and R/T and two engine choices, a 2.4l petrol and a 2.0l diesel, with prices starting at £16,990.
“The Dodge Journey is the perfect ‘right-sized’ vehicle for families who don’t want the look of a traditional people carrier but need the functionality and utility of a seven seat MPV, the versatility of a larger sport-utility vehicle with the fuel efficiency of a family saloon," Federico Goretti, Chrysler UK managing director said in a release.
The entry level Journey is the SE, powered by a 2.4l petrol engine. The version comes equipped with 16-inch steel wheels, tire pressure monitoring, power-folding and heated door mirrors, electric windows and six-disc CD with MP3 compatible sound system, all as standard. As a novelty, Chrysler added a second-row integrated child booster seats, odour and stain repel cloth and cruise control.
The SXT, which starts at £19,990, adds six way power driver seat, lumbar adjustment, fog lamps and 17 inch alloy wheels. The top of the range R/T starts at £21,990 and features, in addition to the SXT specs, leather-trimmed seats and 19 inch alloy wheels, uconnect phone with voice recognition, a hands-free communication system using Bluetooth technology, iPod connectivity and roof crossbars.
"The Journey further strengthens its customer appeal by offering high levels of standard equipment at a very competitive price, great fuel economy and an image that makes it stand out from its competitors in the mid-sized MPV market,” Goretti concluded.
