Launched in 1966, the first-generation Dodge Charger was far from being successful musclecar, with sales remaining low until 1968, when the vehicle was redesigned inside and out.
This is why we’re not surprised to learn that car collectors would rather have second- and third-generation Chargers in their garages. However, we’re happy to report that the early B platform Chargers have not been forgotten, with many enthusiasts restoring and even improving these large coupes.
One of them is Ryan Korek of Korek Designs, who is driving a gorgeous restomod 1966 Charger that was fitted with a 6.1-liter Gen III Hemi engine under the hood. Improvements are numerous, as Korek and his team wanted the handling and comfort of a new car, but the Charger kept most of its original sheetmetal.
