Of all the Ferraris ever made, is it possible to call out one in particular as the “most beautiful” ever? Silverstone Auctions would have us believe so by affixing that title to an admittedly gorgeous 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso that will be auctioned off at the Salon Privé in London.
According to the auction listing, only 22 examples of the Ferrari 250 GT Lusso were ever produced and just 17 are believed to remain in existence. This particular car is a numbers-matching beauty that completed a restoration in 2010 and has been an award winner since. Although Silverstone Auctions only released a single image of this 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso, but the immaculate Rosso Cordoba paint job mixed with the tan leather interior combine to showcase this car’s beauty. Combine all of these elements, and this car is expected to fetch a king’s ransom when it crosses the auction block in September.

How much exactly? The early estimates value this Ferrari 250 GT Lusso at somewhere between £1.75 million and £2 million, which currently converts to around $2.998 million and 3.426 million USD. As we pointed out recently, the market for vintage Ferraris is red hot right now with a 1954 Ferrari 375-Plus selling for $18.3 million last month at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and a rare Ferrari 250 GTO being auctioned off next month at Bonhmas at the Quail.

Joining 1963 Ferrari 250 GT Lusso, it was also announced that the inaugural Silverstone Auction at Salon Privé would feature a 1960 Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina Series II Coupe and a 1926 Rolls-Royce Phantom I Sedanca by Knibbs & Parkyn. The Ferrari is expected to sell for up to £425,000 ($728,000 USD), while the Rolls-Royce – previously owned by a Costa Rican diplomat – could fetch up to £100,000 (around $171,000 USD).

The Silverstone Auction at Salon Privé kicks off on September 4, 2014.
