People willing to spend €28- ($35-) million on a car must really love old Ferraris. We think it’s a ludicrous amount of money to spend on a car. However, given its history and its unique color, while still not justifying its price, this green-ish 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO is definitely an interesting buy, for those people who can afford it.
After having been bought a decade ago for $8.4-million (one fourth what it sold now), this, one of 39 GTOs ever, was a car specially built for Sir Stirling Moss, which due to his 1962 crash, he never got a chance to race it. If it’s current owner holds on to it for another 10 years, who knows, at the rate at which its price is increasing, it could be worth $100 million or more.
Don’t save your money for such a thing and buy it when it’s already expensive. Find something similar which you think will become a future classic, buy and leave it as inheritance for your grandkids. In a few decades' time, they’ll thank you for it.
