1955 Maserati 125 Turismo Veloce Restored to Perfection Up for Grabs

In case Turismo Veloce sounds somehow familiar you should know that it was not MV Agusta who used this term in the first place. Of course, the tourer MV Agusta introduced last autumn at EICMA is a neat bike, but the original Turismo Veloce belongs to... Maserati.

Again, some of you might know Maserati only for their supercars, but they also used to build motorcycles back in the day. One of their 125 Turismo Veloce units manufactured in 1955 is now up for grabs.

Given how rare these bikes are, seeing one is certainly a great opportunity for collectors, and in this particular case, for those who enjoy road racing old-school machines. That is because this 1955 Maserati 125 Turismo Veloce was not only restored, but is in perfect running condition!

Five years of painstaking restoration yielded a bike that's close to perfection

The 125 Turismo Veloce was engineered for road racing purposes in Europe, and comes from the very Maserati factory that also manufactured cars. So you should not be surprised to learn that it comes with a special E12 needle for the Dell'Orto UB24S carburetor. This barb needle was specially engineered for racing and will help you get the most out of the 125 Turismo Veloce on the track.

Found in Siena in 2010, it took five painstaking years to restore this bike to the current state, the process being over in June 2015. The motorcycle now lives up to its historical badge, with most of the sheet metal being original and carefully repainted. The shiny parts have also been re-chromed, and the exposed metal polished to perfectly resemble the original state.

The engine was rebuilt and has zero miles on it, and even comes with a Maserati spark plug. As we already mentioned, the bike is ready to roll on the street or track, so its future owner will be able to either set this Maserati in display or ride it in vintage races.

This 1955 Maserati 125 Turismo Veloce can be had for $19,950 (€17,785) and comes with a 140-page binder documenting the rebuild.
