1946 Ford De Luxe from Back To The Future Sounds Mean

While Back To The Future fans are eagerly wishing they could bid for Griff Tannen’s BMW 6 Series - which will go under the hammer on the 24th - we’ve just stumbled on another cool car that starred in the famous trilogy. This piece is about the 1946 Ford De Luxe Biff Tannen drove in 1955.

For those who are not that fond of the franchise, we’ll remind you that in the first film Biff Tannen’s car in 1955 was a black 1946 Ford Super DeLuxe Convertible. Now, let us stop here for a second. The nice fellows over at the Aficionauto have tracked the current owner of the car and took it to the road.

The car enthusiasts are going through a Back To The Future spree, in which they try to drive as many cars that starred in the trilogy as possible. As you may well know, most of the famous vehicles have received several modifications, with some of them being quite different than the stock model. Just think of the DeLorean.

With this classic Ford, things remain quite accurate. The only thing Universal Studious changed apparently is related to the roof, which is missing. They cut it off so that Biff drove a convertible. Other than that, it appears it’s pretty much an old timer Ford. Universal sold the car back in 1996 to a private collector. The car aficionado is taking care of a vintage car shop with his son in southeastern Wisconsin.

As we said above, the first installment of Back To The Future starred a bunch of cars, but not too many managed to skip the utter modification part. To be more precise, according to the BackToTheFuture Wiki, there are 55 separate automobiles and trucks, the newest of which were the 1984 AMC Eagle Wagon driven by Jennifer Parker’s father, and the 1984 BMW 733i owned by George McFly at the end of the movie.
