Watching motorcycle speedometers at full blow always makes a car aficionado feel a bit frustrated, lusting for that otherworldly needle ascension. Well, there are some cars that can pull this kind of tricks and we’re here to show you one of the most amusing.
We’re talking about an Mk2 Volkswagen Golf, which delivers no less than 1,150 Nm and 763 lb-ft (1,034 Nm). The car uses a 2.0-liter 16V Turbo four-cylinder engine. This is a street configuration, which can run at a maximum of 58 psi boost on E85, featuring an extreme Tuners GTX42 turbocharger.
The street tires are the only limitation, but, as you can see in the clip below, these make for a huge handicap - despite the 4Motion all-wheel drive, there's wheelspin up to 124 mph (200 km/h).
Nevertheless, the acceleration is simply overwhelming. As for the drivability, that’s another thing altogether. Boost arrives late and brutal. Turbo lag is a major understatement. What;s more it’s really difficult for the driver to hang on to it, but when he does, the results are explosive.
