Hundreds of Shelby GT350 Mustangs Are Waiting for Their Stripes While Customers Wait for Delivery

Have you placed an order for a 2015/2016 Shelby GT350 Mustang? The thing is, you’re not the only poor soul waiting for your track-focused muscle car to be delivered. A member of the Mustang6G forum has tipped us that hundreds of GT350s and GT350 Rs are now sitting in the Flat Rock plant’s high-security parking lot, waiting to receive their go-faster stripes.

Considering that some members of the forum have been waiting nigh on 6 months for their cars to arrive, it seems that Ford is yet again playing hooky with its newest high-performance offering. What’s wrong with the Mustangs featured in the following photo gallery? As Mustang6G member 5.0 435 puts it, “Now Ford if you are reading this, get those cars moving.”

But the time wasted in the parking lot is just the tip of the iceberg. Once the snow melts from the sun, the lacquer and paint will start deteriorating as well. That’s not cool, Ford, especially to those hundreds of customers who paid top dollar for these vehicles. It’s not only the $47,795 and $61,295 sticker prices that should make the Blue Oval get a move on because the GT350 Mustang and the R are all about performance.

The customers know that too, otherwise they wouldn’t have taken up the manufacturer’s bet on the first-ever flat-plane crankshaft V8 developed by Ford for a street-legal application. It goes without saying that the Ford Motor Company has no excuses for taking so long to apply over-the-top stripes on a few vehicles.

Until the 2017 Ford GT starts production, keep in mind that the Shelby GT350 and GT350 R Mustang are the most powerful road-legal cars currently produced by the Blue Oval. In an ideal world, the automaker should’ve kept its promise and deliver those cars according to schedule. But not Ford.
