As crazy as it sounds, but this is the very thing some police officers in Karachi, Pakistan did. This completely wacko action is said to be a punishment for the riders who used the car parking areas around the Dolmen City Mall and left their bikes unlocked, visordown reports.
Whether this story is true or not will be cleared out by an internal police investigation, but the Boat Basin police officers claim their act was meant to be a warning against motorcycle theft. The cops also removed the valves from the bikes, thus preventing their owners to refill the tires.

The bike owners described the whole affair as being an act of vandalism and property damage and some of them also mentioned they would seek compensations in the court of law.

“It is unfair to puncture a vehicle to avert theft. Next time, the police will take away our household objects to avert robberies. They will say they did this because we did not lock our gates,” motorcycle rider Nashit Munshi adds, quoted by the same source. His bike was also left with punctured tires during his working hours.

Clifton police Assistant Super Intendant Abadit Nisar was contacted and asked about an official position regarding this disturbing act. He said he had no information on the case, but an inquiry will be started and solutions found. The official also said police procedures involve fines and towing vehicles, but no such measures are mentioned anywhere.
