Judging from the enormous success registered by the first Ghost Rider movie (2007), a sequel was likely to follow. Scheduled for launch in February 17, 2012, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is currently being filmed in Sibiu, Romania, where local media managed to offer us a glimpse of what to expect from this second part.

As you already know, the movie is based on the Marvel character of the same name, starring Cage as Johnny Blaze, a stunt motorcyclist who morphs into the demon vigilante Ghost Rider.

Today, November 10, the Oscar winner and the filming crew were busy filming a car-related scene of the movie, while also making final preparations to the two-wheeled machine. The images revealed that Ghost Rider 2 will feature a Yamaha VMAX this time, as Blaze’s ride of choice.

The latest fuel injected VMAX uses YCC-I and YCC-T. The airhorns inside the airbox are lifted by a servo activated at 6650 rpm to open up the airway underneath. This shortens the length of the intake system from 150mm to 52mm.

In the first Ghost Rider movie, Cage rode a Buell motorcycle for Blaze's stunt cycle, and a heavily customized hardtail chopper dubbed "Grace" which transforms into the "Hell Cycle". The Hell Cycle's wheels, made of pure flames in the comics, were changed to be solid tires covered in flames in order to give the motorcycle more weight onscreen.

If Cage’s partner in the first movie was Eva Mendes, this time the actor will have Violante Placido, none other than Michele Placido’s - Corrado Cattani in TV mini-series La Piovra / The Octopus - daughter. Unfortunately, we’ll just have to wait until early 2012 to see the final result of the Cage - VMAX - Placido get-together.

Other images from the set, as well as a photo of Placido can be seen in the gallery below this article.
