New LED Lights for the Volkswagen Golf

Having done a good job at designing the new generation Golf last year, German manufacturer Volkswagen has however cut a few corners. The new generation Golf came more as a facelifted version, one which, here and there, disappointed its fans.

Now, in an attempt to make things right (we're kidding, of course), Volkswagen rolled out a new set of... LED headlights for the model. This means that, from now on, the sixth generation Golf will be lit up by LEDs both at the rear, and at the front.

Of course, the new headlamps come as options for the model, with the manufacturer setting a price of EUR1,310 for a pair ($1,750). For that money, you get a 15 LED construction surrounding the Bi-Xenon headlamps which, truth be told, look very interesting.

The Golf line will probably get more exciting next year, when the carmaker is said to be planning to launch the convertible version of the Mark VI. More info on the Golf Cabrio, currently limited, is expected to be made available soon.

"Many people dreamt of the Beetle Cabrio, the Karmann Ghia or the Scirocco. It is wonderful to see this tradition being continued now and to know that automobile production in Osnabruck has a future,” said Lower Saxony's Minister President David McAllister back in the beginning of the month, when VW's plans for the future were outlined.

“The new Golf Cabrio will be a great car. The extensive expertise in cabriolet construction that is available here is being harnessed."
