Land Rover Preparing New Model

Jaguar Land Rover has debuted an intense expansion process, backed by Tata Motors, with the SUV brand brand now set to make another new step for this.

Land Rover is planing to introduce a new model to its range, with the vehicles being placed between the recently-launched Evoque and the Range Rover Sport, as autocar reports.

Company insiders have told the aforementioned source that the strong positive reactions (of both the public and the media) received by the new Evoque are an additional argument for building a new model.

The company has not defined a pathway for the new model yet. One of the possibilities is a seven-seat trendy SUV. The vehicle will share an important part of its components with the next generation of the Range Rover.

However, as it will be pretty light, it will serve more than just a financial purpose for the carmaker. In other words, it will help the company lower its average CO2 emissions.

Land Rover will undoubtedly make sure that the new model won’t cannibalize the Evoque. There will be a clear difference between the two, both in terms of what is offered and pricing. But this means that the new SUV could threaten the Range Rover Sport. In order to solve this issue, the automotive producer is expected to bring an important transformation with the next generation of the latter. To be more precise, the Range Rover Sport will move further upmarket, with the plan also allowing it to become a tougher rival for the models it competes against.
