Almost two weeks ago we were telling you about Maserati's plans to revive the MC12 supercar with a LaFerrari-based high-performance vehicle by 2015.
Of course, there's no official word from Modena yet, so hypecar enthusiasts can only hope that the LaMaserati will actually be built. Despite the uncertainty behind the project, it's always a great deal of fun to speculate how the MC12's successor will look like and thanks to Anton Gjorsev we can now enjoy the car's first rendering.
While the front end obviously takes its cues from the LaFerrari (and we wouldn't expect it to be very different), several details have been altered by in order to add those Maserati touches we want. Besides the wide grille featuring the company's trident logo, the "MC22" gained slightly modified Maserati headlamps and a new splitter. And you know what? With this front end, the LaMaserati looks better than the LaFerrari!
As we already told you, the LaFerrari-based Maserati will reportedly ditch the hybrid technology and use either the F12 6.3-liter V12 Ferrari engine or a quad-turbo 3.8-liter based on the twin-turbo found in the Quattroporte. Probably built in only 50 examples, the all-carbon fiber LaMaserati will cost more than $1.3 million.
