Infiniti today announced that it will produce a Limited Edition “Essence Sculpture”, inspired by the Infinity Essence concept that was brought to the world last year to celebrate the carmaker’s 20th anniversary.
The sculpture will be a top item for collectors, as the company has decided that it will only produce 300 units, with the series using individual numbering. The item is made from solid resin and was designed by the creator of the original vehicle, under the supervision of the company’s Senior Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, Shiro Nakamura.
And the story doesn’t end here. Infiniti has contacted Louis Vuitton, asking the luxury products to develop a carrying case for the No. One unit of the Essence Sculpture. The result is a Louis Vuitton Damier Graphite design case that will be used to present the sculpture, which will be showcased at Infiniti’s global headquarters in Japan.
“After the actual concept car bespoke luggage, Louis Vuitton has created for Infiniti a carrying case for the specimen number one of the Essence Sculpture. This second collaboration with the world leader in luxury epitomizes Infiniti's quest for ultimate luxury and savoir-faire. This case has been handcrafted in Louis Vuitton’s historical workshop in Asnieres (France), where all special orders are made to cater specific needs or to fulfil particular desires,” stated the press release.
We’ll remind you that Infiniti is reportedly considering producing a high-performance coupe that could be based on the Essence concept. Let’s hope that a strong business case for the vehicle will be built.
