Dorset Vintage and Classic Auction Promises to Be a Good One

The upcoming Dorset Vintage and Classic Auctions Spring Sale on March 24th looks to set to be one of the largest ones to date, with a wide range of motors, CVs and motorcycles on offer.

One of the main attractions will be a beautifully restored to original specification 1959 Jaguar XK150 SE Fixed Head Coupe. At an estimated £45,000 – 50,000, this elegant motor car looks like an investment piece and will give its new custodian hours of pleasurable motoring. Joining the Jag’ is another classic British sports car of the same era: a very well restored 1959 MGA Fixed Head Coupe 1800cc with a five speed gearbox, estimated to be worth £15,000 – 16,000.

The long list of Mercedes vehicles on sale include a beautifully stylish cream 1968 250SL with a Pagoda Hardtop, which has an estimate value of £20,000-£24,000.

For those who prefer their collectibles to be even more expensive than that, the Spring Sale will offer an excellent selection of cars from the 30s: a pretty 1933 MG J2 Midget (£19,000 – 23,000), a beautiful 1935 Rover 12 Sports Saloon (£11,500 – 12,500) and a 1936 Alvis Silver Eagle SG 16.95 Holbrook Sports Saloon (£18,000 – 20,000).

Fans of commercial vehicles will not be disappointed either, as vehicles on offer will include a faultless 1969 Bedford CA Mk 2 LWB Van in RAC livery (£5,750 – 6,750), two of the ever popular Morris Minor Vans – both of 1971 vintage, a restored 1960 Ford Thames 400E Pick-Up Truck (£8,000 – 9,000), a 1966 Ford Transit Tipper Transporter, ideal for transporting a classic car (£3,500 – 4,500) and a beautifully restored 1960 Austin A60 Pick-Up Truck (£4,500 – 5,500).

The event will take place at the Gartell Light Railway, Common Lane, Yenston, near Templecombe, Somerset, BA8 0NB. For further information, please visit www.dvca.co.uk

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
