Rock superstars, celebrities and rockstars with families, get ready! The world`s first Recreational Vehicle entirely made from carbon fiber will soon hit the road. With about half the weight of current mass-market trailers, the CR-1 travel trailer is made from a full carbon fiber monocoque chassis and body. It’s the stuff of racing cars, this thing!
Celebs like Vin Diesel, Jeff Gordon or Will Smith, known to own more than one RV have a new level of travel trailers they can choose from now on. Global Caravan Technologies (GCT) in conjunction with Indycar Series builder Dallara are the manufacturers of the unique 35-foot long vehicle.

If fully-loaded, it will cost about $770.000. But you`ll get everything you need and a bit more: high-design interior fusing leather and carbon fiber styling in impeccable luxury and style, large rear entertainment/lounge area doubles as workstation and a master bath with custom features.

It’s also packed with technology. Think about the 700W equivalent solar system with 300AH, the integrated generator, the washer and dryer and of course satellite TV and wi-fi router. You’ll drive your own luxury apartment on the road and when you arrive, you’ll still feel like you’re staying at a five star hotel.

It`s like company SEO Charles Hoefer explained: “The CR-1 Carbon`s interiors walls are made of carbon fiber, and certain carbon fiber design elements are exposed throughout the unit. In the kitchen, the split configuration allows for expansive countertop space and an optional wine rack. Designer Kohler sinks and faucets are used throughout, as are premium tile selections. All cabinetry in the CR-1 Carbon utilizes premium residential hardware with soft-closing doors and drawers. In the bath suite, wanted to take deigns even further, and GCT`s CR-1 Carbon feels more like a luxury New York apartment than an RV.”

GCT was founded in the summer of 2013, and the design of the CR-1 prototype in September. The manufacturers say the CR-1 should weigh in at 6,000 pounds, which means the full carbon RV model should return 100-150% the fuel economy of competitors.

According to the company, the production model will be shown in the fall, and sales will begin in the first quarter of 2015.
