Remember Bugatti’s Galibier concept? Or should we say the four-door version of the Veyron? Well, the French automaker says we should forget about it because it’s not going to happen.
According to Motor Trend, quoting company CEO Wolfgang Schreiber, Bugatti doesn’t have “enough bandwidth to support both a super sports car and a super sedan”. simply put, the world has no use for a sedan larger and more luxurious than the Rolls-Royce phantom.
Revealed in September 12, 2009 during an invitation-only show at the company’s headquarters in Molsheim, the Bugatti Galibier 16C is powered by an 8.0-liter twin-supercharged W16 engine that delivers in excess of 800 HP.
Initially, the Bugatti Galibier was scheduled to enter production in late 2012, but it was eventually delayed for 2015. The automaker was planning to around 1,500 examples with prices set at more €1 million ($1.3 million) each.
