As you can see, the inside of the Elantra is pretty much like the one previewed in April by a rendering of the interior. Said to have “advanced features not found on other compacts," Elantra's interior comes with a non-conventional shape, given by the design of the center console.
The dashboard features tunneled speedometer and tachometer. Standard equipment includes heated rear seats, ambient lighting and a color TFT LCD information display.
When it will be launched in the next month or so, the Elantra will come packing a 1.6l Gamma GDI four-cylinder engine, developing 140 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque (167 Nm).
The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, in a configuration which is a Korea-first.
"The new Avante encompasses Hyundai's latest ambitions, featuring the best styling and performance in its class. We're confident that it will once again redefine the compact segment worldwide," Steve S. Yang, Hyundai's Global Business Division said when the car was launched.
Borrowing design elements from the new Accent and from the redesigned Sonata, the car will begin retailing, as said, later this year, for prices going as much as 19,500,000 Won ($16,100). More details about the never before seen features of the Elantra are expected to be released shortly.
