Known ‘over the pond’ as the Mitsubishi ASX, the US-spec Outlander Sport, which used to be manufactured in Japan, is now made in Normal, Illinois, in the US. With this shift in production, you’d expect the car to be cheaper than before - it isn’t. The $19,170 price tag is actually $375 higher than that of the model which was manufactured outside the US - odd.
Aside from the new price, the revised car gets a new front fascia, newly-designed 18-inch alloys, as well as black side sills. Inside, aside from a few color and trim changes, the car is exactly the same as the previous model. Under the bonnet, the car retains the 2.0-liter petrol engine which is hooked up to a CVT gearbox which drives all four wheels.
If you are interested in buying an Outlander Sport, you will need to add an additional $825 destination and handling fee, or $950 if you live in Alaska or Hawaii.
