Not many of you might have heard about Konrad Begg, but you surely know the UK Top Gear show which, apart from being hosted by three of the funniest petrolheads around, also comes with the best visuals in the industry. Well, the whole artistic part of the show is handled by Begg, director Konrad Begg to be precise.
He's also the bloke responsible for putting out one of the best Lexus IS commercials last year. And the good news is that he will also handle the one for the all-new NX 300h compact luxury crossover we’ll see in dealerships this fall.

Shooting for the new promo video started earlier this month with Madrid, Spain, being the place of choice. The director said he chose the location for the city’s special architecture and the way sunlight bounces in between buildings.

The video material is currently under processing and it will probably reach the main media channels in a couple months, previewing the arrival of Lexus’ first luxury compact hybrid crossover.

We’re really glad seeing Lexus turning from relatively boring champagne-glass-on-the-hood style commercials of the past to these new age short flicks aimed at a much younger public. The big change came along with the introduction of the automaker’s new design language, best described by nonconformist shapes and heart-touching performance.

But for most of the people this translates through sharp angles, wide spindle grilles and L-shaped lights. These aesthetic cues are also found on the new LX 300h model, which is powered by a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle gasoline engine aided by an electric motor. The setup is said to offer a fuel consumption of under 5.2 l/100 km (45.2 mpg) and CO2 emissions under 120 g/km.

In case you missed Begg’s IS commercial, we’ve just sticked the full version below for you to enjoy. And as a bonus, photos from the NX shooting can be found right beneath the video.
