Alongside the new Quattroporte, the Italians also developed a smaller sedan called the Ghibili, a sort of rival for the BMW 5-Series, but with their own brand of style and luxury.
We've caught up with the car as it was enjoying the spring air, getting fit for its debut at the 2013 Auto Shanghai. Don't be fooled by the smaller proportion, this is a full on luxury vehicle measuring 4.9 meters and costing somewhere around €80,000 when new.
The initial engine will the the Ferrari-developed 3.0-liter V8, fitted with twin turbos and a direct-injection system for optimum performance. This will only be available with the brand new eight-speed automatic gearbox developed by ZF.
Later on, a 3.0-liter diesel will also be offered, though your guess is as good as ours when it comes to performance or economy since it hasn't even been built yet.
Watch out for an official debut in April.
