Spyshots: BMW F10 M5 Facelift

The M5 is already the most attractive car in the series of BMWs that start with the number 5. It's got the most muscle, the brightest jewelry and the most attractive smile. However, that won't be enough once the rest of the 5 Series family gets its Life Cycle Impulse later (LCI).

It's only been 16 months since the F10 M5 entered production, but this most stout of all Bavarian brews is getting its makeover as well.

Our spy photographer has caught up with the M5 LCI model as it was undergoing testing in Europe. Changes are obvious, since BMW engineers only applied camouflage wrap to the areas that are going to be different. The front bumper will have a slightly different shape, while the headlight design will be tweaked, likely in the same manner as was seen on the X6 LCI, with redesigned turn indicators.

Round the back, only a small portion of the skirt has been modified, while down the side the only noticeable change is the introduction of ceramic brakes, optional extras that provide additional fade resistance for track use.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
