Spyshots: Audi RS6 Avant Winter Testing

Don’t be fooled into thinking that this is just an ordinary S6 Avant, since it has four smaller exhaust tips instead of two huge ones. It’s actually a test mule for the upcoming RS6 Avant, the twin turbocharged monster that will rock your world this when it arrives, most likely in 2013.

These spy photos were taken in one of the coldest areas of Sweden, nearing the Arctic Circle, where most automakers go to see if their cars will stand up to the worst mother nature can throw at them.

The front fascia with huge lip probably belongs to the RS6, and the test mole also comes with massive ceramic brakes hidden under those multi-spoke A8 wheels. However, the four exhaust tips and that mesh diffuser is all S6 in our eyes.

Rumor has it the RS6 will be powered by a highly tuned version of the new 4.0-liter TFSI bi-turbo V8 which is found not only in the S6, but also the the Bentley Continental GT V8. We have no way of knowing how much power it will develop, but the 580 hp of the old V10 is a good benchmark.
