Using wood in motorcycle building is not a new practice, but Dmitry Gubenko's carved wood custom bike beats everything we have seen so far. And beats them silly!
A motorcycle rider himself, Dmitry felt like adding a personal, one-off touch to one of his rides and came up with the idea to use as much wood wherever possible. And since plain wood would have been just silly, he decided to do some carving.
He may have exaggerated a bit, as Dmitry took two years to complete this build, but the result is breath taking. The amount of detail makes us thinks about the almost insane sculptures of old gothic cathedrals.
The bike is dominated by the oak symbol, with leaves and acorns and there's hardly a place left untouched by Dmitry's skill. From spoke covers to the intricate detail of the rear fender and side covers, this bike is a full-on work of art. Hats off to Dmitry Gubenko. You sir, rock!
