Opel / Vauxhall Corsa E Spied Undisguised

See that brownish subcompact car? That's the production version of the 2015 Opel Corsa posing for its first official photo shoot. Thanks to this little Parisian promenade and Blog Automobile's crack team of spy photographers, we found out how the Corsa E looks like in the flesh four months before Opel will officially unveil the B-segment city dweller at the Paris Auto Show.

From the looks of it, there's not much change between the current generation of the German runaround and the all-new model. The profile is almost the same between the two except from the lower crest, while the front fascia and headlights borrow visual cues from the Adam. Rear passenger doors and windows have a whiff Meriva to their styling, while the sculpted flanks and tail lamps are definitely inspired from the Astra compact hatchback.

Even though first official specs and photographs of the 2015 Corsa will see the light of day on July 10th, we can already tell you that the 1.0-liter three-cylinder pocket powerhouse which debuted on the Adam back in February will find its way under the bonnet of the all-new Opel/Vauxhall Corsa. This unit delivers 166 Nm of torque from just 1,800 rpm and is currently available in two power levels: 90 hp and 115 hp.

In the Adam, the 1.0-liter EcoTec SIDI direct injection turbo engine returns 4.3 liters per 100 kilometers on the combined cycle according to the manufacturer. This is a natural move from the German carmaker if you take into account that both the Renault Clio and Ford Fiesta are offered with turbocharged three-cylinder mills that churn out at least 90 horsepower and boast competitive fuel consumption figures.

On the inside, we know from a previous set of spy photos from our talented team of carparazzi that the 2015 Opel/Vauxhall Corsa gets a steering wheel adapted from a Chevrolet design, as well as a very clean dashboard design and higher quality materials throughout the cabin. At the present moment, the Corsa E isn't shaping up to be the all-new model we've been expecting, but more of a facelift with benefits, don't you agree?
