New Renault Clio Campus, Fresh French Looks

French manufacturer Renault has released today details of the new version Clio, a model which, as the manufacturer says, "marks the introduction of a new visual identity". The restyled vehicle, coming to showrooms in June, promises to mark the introduction of an all-new sales method developed to guarantee a competitive entry level price".

The new Clio Campus features, as we said, a new visual design. For this version, the front bumper and grille have been redesigned by dropping the trihedral panel behind the logo the bottom air intake has been modified to highlight Clio's personality, while the fog-lamps are now incorporated in the bumper and feature new crystal headlamp masks. In addition, the Campus boasts new flat blade-type windscreen-wipers and bigger exterior mirrors.

Engine wise, the Clio Campus line-up is made up of small displacement engines, including a LPG version. Two gasoline engines (1.2l 60 horsepower and 1.2l 16V 75 horsepower) and two diesel powered units (dCi 65 horsepower and dCi 85 horsepower) are available for the new version. The diesel powerplants put out into the atmosphere 115g/km and 111g/km, respectively.

Prices, aside for the "competitive entry level price" catch phrase used by Renault, have not yet been released. What is sure is that the Clio Campus will be subject to a 700 euro rebate (in France and for the two diesel versions). The LPG version (available for the 1.2l 60 horsepower engine model) qualifies for a 2,000 euro eco-bonus, thanks to its 126g/km CO2 emission rate.

The Clio is also part of several countries' scrappage bonus schemes, a fact that will further bring down the price of the Clio Campus.
