Though the Porsche’s driver got trapped inside the car, he managed to escape on the right passenger's side. As for the Jeep’s driver, fire officials had to stabilize the car so he could safely exit.
According to Mark Brady, spokesman of the Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Department, the driver of the Porsche failed to stop in time for a red light at Greenbelt Road and collided with the Jeep.
Brady also said that an abrupt stop lowers a vehicle's profile, which allowed the Porsche to slide underneath the Jeep's two rear wheels. He said the Porsche's forward momentum spun the Jeep on top of it.
"The jeep had some minor damage to the under carriage," Brady was quoted by Gazette.net as saying. "The Porsche sustained significant damage to the front of the vehicle and the engine."
The interesting part is yet to come. It wasn’t the Porsche’s owner that took the used sports car for a ‘spin’, but a fellow co-worker. Moreover, the car was bought only one day prior to the unfortunate incident.
