Toyota makes money selling Camrys and Priuses. Their Corolla sedan is a veritable VW Beetle of the modern age, boring but necessary. They didn’t need to make a supercar, but somehow, when you’re number one you have to prove you’ve got what it takes.
The LFA project started out a decade ago, and for a while it looked like it was never going to happen. That is until current CEO Akio Toyoda took over. The board of directors must have said to him “OK, but this is the last one”, because it’s a total misfit.
Unlike most Toyotas, which are supposed to be affordable, this machine is made from carbon fiber and is more expensive than the Ferrari 458 Italia. It’s also more exclusive, as Lexus only puts out 20 of these a month, 500 in total by the time production ends.
SR Auto got their greedy tuning hands on just such a Lexus supercar, production number #22, which they fitted with a set of Design 4OUR DEPTH wheels created by PUR.
“The hardest part of this entire project was to select the finish of the wheel. A gloss lumiere grey lip was paired with a modern black face to enhance the golden brake calipers,” SR Auto Group says.
