Kawasaki ER-2n Patent Filed in Europe Means a New Small Naked on Its Way?

Apparently Kawasaki has filed a patent request for a new naked bike, we could name ER-2n, to retain the naming patterns the House of Akashi uses. That is, this might mean that Kawasaki has plans to bring such a bike in Europe, and given the fact that the naked Ninja 650 is the ER-6n, you can figure out things for yourselves.

This potential bike should be the stripped-down version of the new single-cylinder machine announced for the Asian markets, the Ninja RR Mono, or Ninja 250SL. While the faired version is very unlikely to be brought in the same markets where the Ninja 300 is already sold, a new, small-displacement machine offered for a smaller price could be a good seller.

Retaining the sporty character of the Ninja family (even if downscaled significantly) could bring a lot of young customers, especially if the price will be an affordable one. So far, the naked mono-cylinder machine is rumored to slot under the Ninja 300, around 30% cheaper. Packing 27 horsepower, the current Ninja 250SL is also said to be a very economical bike, and with its engine powering the ER-2n, young European riders and those looking to save on the gas bills might welcome it quite warmly. And with the Honda CBR300R delayed...
