The Honda subsidiary in Brazil, Moto Honda da Amazonia Ltd., today announced that the availability of the flex fuel motorcycle CG150 Titan Mix will begin in mid-March this year.

The CG150 Titan Mix is a small size motorcycle that is equipped with a Mix Fuel Injection System, which is a flexible fuel technology developed independently by Honda. The CG150 Titan Mix is the first motorcycle in the world equipped with flexible fuel technology .

Honda's new technology enables flexible mixture of bio-ethanol and gasoline based fuels. According to Honda, this technology will reduce CO2 emissions and fuel costs for costumers as well.

In Brazil, flexible fuel technology is quite advanced and widely used, approximately 90% of the new automobiles sold in Brazil being equipped with it. In the motorcycle industry, however, the CG150 Titan Mix is the tip of the spear, being the first and for the moment, the only motorcycle to use it. But things may not stay the same in the near future, as Honda may adapt this technology to other motorbikes in production.

According to Honda, new motorcycle registrations in Brazil reached approximately 1.91 million units in 2008, of which 1.326 million units were sold by them. As for the CG150 Titan Mix, Honda is expecting to sell 200,000 units annually. The starting price for the “Titan” will be 6,340 Real, a price that Honda hopes to attract commuting people and workers.

The CG150 Titan Mix is a motorbike with low upkeep and fuel costs, therefore it would make a perfect solution for all commuting people.
