It’s hard not to love the Skoda Citigo, and not to wonder why its sister the VW Up! wasn’t named car of the year. This cute little citycar will probably have an impact on how metropolitan areas are seen, and despite its relatively low starting price, you can have it configured to a high level of premium goodness.
The Citigo is already on sale as a 3-door car, and for Geneva the Czech carmaker prepared a 5-door production car for us to look at. Despite the relatively simple conversion form the VW Up!
This is also one of the first Skodas to feature the newly designed emblems on the front of the bonnet. And while the grille is simple, it’s not without character.
The 2012 Skoda Citigo city car will initially be offered with two engine options, basically two output levels of the same 3-cylinder 1.0-liter petrol, rated at either 60 horsepower or 75 hp, and both linked to a five-speed manual. They both do 4.7-litres per 100 Km, but are relatively slow as a result.
