The world of automotive actions is full of surprises and excitement, with more and more special vehicles becoming available to the devoted public.

RM Auctions, the largest collector car auction house in the world has prepared something truly exceptional for the upcoming annual Sports & Classics of Monterey sales, which will debut on August 12.

The event will start with a special evening auction dedicated to the Ford brand, which will include some stars of the automotive history books, such as a 1903 Ford Model A and a 1962 Lincoln Continental that was used by President Kennedy.

So, you’ve read the ingredients for the cake. As for the icing, it will be offered by Ford itself, which will bring no less than 18 concept vehicles built between 2000 and 2004 to the sale. The stars: the 2004 Ford Mustang GT-R (our favorite), the 2004 Lincoln Mark X and the 2003 Ford Supercharged Thunderbird Concept.

Here’s a word on the aforementioned vehicles from Ford:
  • 2004 Ford Mustang GT-R Concept, introduced at the April 2004 New York International Auto Show, this example was built as a tribute to 40 years of Mustang performance (Est. $250,000 - $350,000).
  • 2004 Lincoln Mark X Concept, combining the Thunderbird spirit with Lincoln luxury and featuring innovative easy-entry doors and a sumptuous cockpit (Est. $200,000 - $250,000).
  • 2003 Ford Supercharged Thunderbird Concept, conceived to gauge public interest in a performance version of the new two-seat Thunderbird, this example was debuted at the 2003 Los Angeles Auto Show (Est. $175,000 - $250,000).

Ford said that it will donate all the proceeds to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Children’s Center.
