FlexFix Bike Carrier To Be Offered for Opel Adam

The Opel/Vauxhall Adam, GM’s attempt at stealing a few sales away from the excellent Fiat 500, has now received a very interesting addition. Since it is a car conceived to be used mainly in town, where things often get rather congested, rather quickly, it’s often a good idea to simply leave your car and carry on on foot, or in this case, riding the bike strapped to the rear of your car.

That’s right, the Adam is now available with with a OEM FlexFix bike rack which allows one to carry a bicycle on the back safely and easily. It even has a drawer-type system which allows the number plate to always be visible.

The rack has a maximum carrying capacity of 30 kg and an adaptor can be fitted to it in order to carry two bikes, with the latter weighing no more than 20 kg. No official pricing information has been released yet, but this will become available closer to its expected 2013 launch.
