Alfa Romeo Giullieta Debuts at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show

The Alfa Romeo 147 has been around since 2000 and was awarded European Car of the Year 2001. But judging by any standards, this car is old and Alfa had to do something about it. So the Geneva Motor Show 2010 will bring the world Alfa’s new Giulietta model, the replacement of the 147.

The car which will take the place of the 147 model in one of Europe’s most important segments is named after a fifties vehicle. Looking at these pictures there is no doubt that the car is truly an Alfa and fits the company’s design philosophy.

You can easily spot the new interpretation of the classic Alfa grille, the front headlights with LED technology and Daytime Running Lights (DRL) function for maximum safety, a new rear end design and rear light clusters with LED technology.

Afla Romeo says that in order to take on its competitors, the new Giulietta will have a high level of performance and will be environmentally friendly. Four Turbo engines will be available at launch and all of them will be Euro 5 compliant.

Another highlight is that all the Alfa Giulietta engines will be equipped with a standard Start&Stop function for better fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions: two petrol engines (1.4TB – 120 HP and 1.4TB MultiAir – 170 HP) and two diesel engines (1.6 JTDM – 105 HP and 2.0 JTDM – 170 HP, both belonging to the second generation of JTDM engines).

Finally, the range is completed with the exclusive 1750 TBi – 235 HP with Quadrifoglio Verde configuration.
