The musclecar was born in good ol' US of A about fifty years ago, and, with very few exceptions, we can still describe them as "a group of American-made 2-door sports coupes with powerful engined designed for high-performance driving".
It's no mystery that European carmakers have built some musclecar(ish) stuff during the 1970s, but how about if we could be able to drive a real Mustang or Corvette competitor in the future?
That's the exact question that prompted IED Torino automotive design student Alex Imnadze to create the Alfa Rome 6C Sports Coupe Concept, probably the closest thing to what an European rival for the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Corvette could look like in the 21st century.
While we are very much in love with American musclecars, we would really want to see this modern 6C (yes, there was another one in the 1940s) enter production. So we're keeping our fingers crossed and the "pretty please" puppy eyes in reach for Alfa Romeo to put some thought in it.
The concept car's creator didn't say a word about what engine would fit this red Italian delight, so we are very be happy to give some free advice: A 7.0-liter V8 or it didn't happen!
