Mitsubishi Motors North America has announced that the brand-new 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander crossover SUV will be the official safety vehicle for this years Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
In addition to the Outlander, Mitsubishi will also field a Lancer Evolution high-performance sports sedan as a supplemental safety vehicle in Colorado. Both Japanese cars we built specifically for the 2013 Pikes Peak with support from companies such as AEM, BBS, Cobb Tuning, DC Sports or Kenwood.
Besides providing safety vehicle, Mitsubishi will also compete in the famed event with its new and innovative all-electric MiEV Evolution II cars. The vehicles will be driven by two-time Dakar Rally winner Hiroshi Masuoka and six-time Pikes Peak overall motorcycle champion Greg Tracy.
The 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is scheduled to take place on June 30.
