Mercedes really is on a roll in the past couple of years. Every car they've made recently has been either good or great, with the one possible exception of the models powered by Renault engines, which have been criticized for being a bit slow.
But the German company's design revolution has taken us by storm and we feel an instant pull towards those clean lines, chrome trim and large emblems.
The new S-Class is without a doubt their masterpiece. We've just shown you the new W222-generation model without any camouflage whatsoever when we discovered there are actual interior photos made by the Germans themselves flaring around the internet.
Are you a head of state, the boss of a multinational company or just an average rich person who travels a lot? You obviously need the new Mercedes S-Class to ensure you arrive at every destination completely unflustered.
The interior is absolutely massive. There's enough legroom for any basketball player who is from plant earth, and entertainment is certainly not going to be a problem. If you're a rear passenger, you can control your own air conditioning via buttons in the center console and adjust your position using toggles on the doors. That was the case with the outgoing S-Class as well, but all the buttons look better finished and arrange because the car was design with them from the beginning.
But the new S-Class is the sort of executive car you might also like to drive, and we think that's where the real magic happens. Even though it's basically the same size as the old car, the interior seems as airy and big as a penthouse apartment. That's because Mercedes has worked plenty of backlighting into the design and of certain button and switches. The center console has been completely transformed, as the 100% digital instruments and infotainment system are actually connected as one unit. This trick is being used by MPV designers at the moment, as it creates the illusion of space for the drier.
Oh, and did we mention the glovebox has a little bottle of Mercedes Benz perfume for the interior system that filters and ionizes the air that enters the cabin. They think of everything, these Germans. The new S-Class also has soft-close doors with illuminated sills. There's going to be six different colors for the Nappa leather plus the design trim we're likely looking at in these photos.
