Mercedes has revealed the final piece of the E-Class puzzle today, the facelifted E63 AMG sedan. The performance saloon is heading towards the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, where all will be revealed.
But for now, all we have to go on is this photo, which shows the car at the head of the new E-Class pack, followed by a sedan, estate, coupe and cabrio. Amazingly, the Sport body kit on the estate and coupe is almost exactly the same as that on the real AMG.
The new E63 features new headlights, grille, bonnet and bumpers, but the biggest news is under the bonnet: a power upgrade for the 5.5-liter twin-turbo AMG-tuned V8 (the M157) and the availability of 4MATIC all-wheel drive.
"At the Detroit Auto Show Mercedes-Benz will wait up with the launch of a major model initiative. Not only will we introduce the E-Class Saloon, Estate, Coupé and Cabriolet, but also the E 63 AMG model now available in a 4MATIC version and, of course, the new four-door coupé, the CLA," Mercedes Benz said.
autoevolution will be attending the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
