It looks like there will be no major updates in Honda's flagship Gold Wing bike for 2013.
Honda announces that the available colors for the next season are Ultra Blue Metallic, Candy Red, Light Silver Metallic, and Grey Metallic. Still no gold option, to make an intended pun. With only light modifications for this model, some voices around the interweb even claim that it's no use waiting for the 2013 bike, and who wants a Gold Wing could be better off (price-wise) with the old model.
With a 35 years history, the Gold Wing brings the fuel-injection 1,832 cc (111.7 ci) engine with the gearbox spinning opposite the crank rotation, as a compensation implement to counter the torque reaction.
The 2013 Honda Gold Wing comes with ABS and tire pressure monitoring, adjustable windshield, heated grips and seats, like anyone would expect. XM Satellite radio/ weather and traffic info and GPS navigation are optional, and so is the airbag. There's iPod, USB stick and MP3 player connectivity and the whole storage capacity exceeds 150 liters (including trunk and fairing pockets).
Prices range between $23,990 (18,490€) for the base configuration and $29,550 (22,775€) for the ABS and airbag version.
