2013 F33 BMW 4-Series Convertible Rendering

The F30 platform that underpinned the recently launched 3-Series sedan will spawn more variants than ever before. First off, you’ve got the new 3-Series Touring estate ca that should be introduced in a couple of months, the Gran Turismo version that’s sort of a mix between a hatchback and a sedan, plus the coupe and convertible, which are likely to be known as 4-Series models from now on.

As for the engine lineup, this will include the regular engines from the F30 3-Series. This means a range of four- and six-cylinder cars. The most powerful car in the standard range will of course be powered by the 3.0-liter unit, but the N54 2.0-liter is rapidly gaining favor with customers.

These rendering based on sightings of test prototypes show the 4-Series will get its good looks from the new 6-Series, meaning a strong swoop down the side to give it a strong look. As the platform has grown, there should be more space than ever in the back, while the folding metal roof will be kept from the current generation.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
