If you enjoyed Yamaha's MT-09 summer release, then you're going to like the new, similar and smaller MT-07.
The new bike is powered by a parallel-twin mill with a 689cc displacement, which delivers 74 hp and this should be pretty decent for city rides, daily commuting and even longer outings. With a torque of 50 ft-lb (67.8 Nm), the 2014 Yamaha MT-07 is again on the cool side, provided the engine can deliver this figure at fairly low rpm.
On the style side, the 2014 Yamaha MT-07 is very similar to its bigger sibling, with a slender, sporty tail section and mass centralized around the mid-ship segment. The underbelly exhaust lowers the center of gravity and brings in a sportier look.
This new middleweight bike might become an instant hit in case Yamaha decides to offer it for an affordable price. If the trend set by the MT-09 ($7,990 or €5,915) is followed by this new machine, we're most likely looking at massive sales.
