Ducati introduces their 2013 version of the 1199 Panigale R. The bike was launched in the US at the Circuit of the Americas, a track which will host it's first-ever MotoGP race on April 21st, marking the debut of what si expected to be a successful trajectory for both the bike and the venue.
The R is highest-specced Panigaleand its Desmo engine can produce a whopping 195 hp @ 10,750 rpm, with a decent peak torque of 132 Nm (98.1 lb-ft) reached at a much more useable 9,000 rpm.
The 1199 Panigale R uses the company's latest type of frame, the aluminium monocoque one, a solution that differs radically from when other manufacturers have in store these days. The frame is developed with massive input from the top racing series including MotoGP and is said to offer better structural strength in a package that's lighter and narrower than what the competition has.
The colour TFT display conveys a huge set of important data, including suspension settings and presets, lap times and offers easy access to the wide variety of other settings the comprehensive electronic aids of the bike come with.
LED daytime running lights are a standard feature, just like the carbon fiber fenders, race-grade radial-mount Brembo calipers and lightweight forged wheels. Judging by the $29,995 (€23,100) price tag on it, the 2013 Ducati 1199 Panigale R will also come equipped with a high-performance steering damper as standard.
