Chevrolet seems to be releasing its 2013 Spark Electric Vehicle bit by bit, with the automotive producer now offering us some info on the vehicle’s electric motor, namely its hp rating.
The electric unit in the Spark EV, which will be assembled at GM's MAryland site, will deliver 85 kW (116 hp), a figure that should offer decent performance, considering the vehicle’s size and one that sound much more appropiate than what the Chevrolet Beat EV, a sister car sold on the Indian market, has to offer: 60 hp.
"Electric motor development and manufacturing is another area of expertise we'll need as we expand vehicle electrification technologies to address the needs of our customers around the world," Larry Nitz, GM's executive director of Vehicle Electrification Engineering explained.
